We are currently hiring for a Lawn Maintenance Crew Member (Day Help).
We seek an individual to fill an opening on our Lawn Maintenance Crew. This position is responsible for daily operations, including quality control, time management, and safety. Candidates must also have strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. They must provide quality service that meets or exceeds management's and our customers' expectations. Positivity, a customer service-minded attitude, and professional conduct are a must.
All positions are paid by the day, and pay day is every Friday. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required, and reliable transportation is necessary.
General Duties:
- Comply with business ethics, applicable laws, and regulations
- Report on time at the regular start time to prepare/review the day's work
- Daily preparation of trucks, equipment, and inventory.
- Load all tools, gas, and other necessary equipment/materials
- Secure all equipment safely.
- Check equipment fluids, tire pressure, proper trailer connection, and all lights are in working condition.
- Perform and manage landscape and maintenance tasks on the customer's property.
- Work with the owner to ensure the work contracted is implemented efficiently and according to contracted specifications.
- Provide labor associated with the maintenance of all lawns and landscape beds.
- Perform all operations tasks, including mowing, string trimming, blowing, debris removal, weeding, edging, pruning, raking, mulch/rock installation, and removal.
- Utilizing hand and power tools or equipment to perform a wide range of landscape and irrigation duties
- Lay sod, plant, dig, rake, and install sprinklers, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Good stamina, strength, and the ability to lift 50lbs+ throughout the work day.
- High attention to detail
- High ability to work in a team-minded manner under high-stress situations while keeping your composure on and off the job
- Available to work a varied schedule in all adverse weather conditions, including extended hours in direct sunlight with breaks, with temperatures in the 100-degree range
- Stoop, stand, and bend for 8 hrs or more a day.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Drug-free work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have 1+ year of experience in lawn maintenance
- Irrigation experience
- Mechanically incline
- The ability to drive a truck with a trailer is a plus.
The typical work day is five days/week, usually from 9 am to 6 pm, rarely a Saturday (earlier hours if we get the routes done). We will primarily be in Highlands, Hardee, and Polk counties.
